Experts Discuss New Findings on the Impact of the ACA Medicaid Expansion on Access to Care for the Homeless Population
The Kaiser Family Foundation hosted a web briefing on April 26 to examine new findings about how the Medicaid expansion has affected patients who are homeless, as well as its impact on the providers who care for them.
Samantha Artiga of the Kaiser Family Foundation moderated the discussion with key findings presented by Barbara DiPietro of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council.
Three health center leaders from two states – one an expansion and the other a non-expansion state – provided perspective: Andy Patterson, Director of Homeless Services, and Jacquelynn Engle, Outreach & Enrollment Director at the Family Health Centers in Louisville, Kentucky; and Cindy Funkhouser, President and CEO of The Sulzbacher Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Filling the need for trusted information on national health issues, the Kaiser Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Menlo Park, California.
