The Passing of Uwe Reinhardt

Statement from Drew Altman President and CEO, KFF

Uwe Reinhardt was a giant in our field, a moral compass for American health care, and along with his wife May, herself a leader in our field, a friend to many at KFF. We will miss his voice, his humor and his outrage.

Uwe always sought the truth. He always reminded us that behind all the data and graphs he loved so much were people. In doing that, he set the standard for all of us in health care.

KFF salutes Uwe. Our hearts go out to May.

Filling the need for trusted information on national health issues, the Kaiser Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Menlo Park, California.
