The Justice Department has grown increasingly wary of two health-care megamergers and could decide within the next week whether to attempt to block the deals, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Federal regulators have been mulling over the $54 billion merger between Anthem and Cigna and the  $37 billion deal between Aetna and Humana for months, said the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk about private discussions. Bloomberg News reported Tuesday that the Justice Department was preparing to file lawsuits to block the mergers.
